Developing a system to detect cars, capture license plates, read and record text in real time on accessible hardware, testing on Raspberry Pi 4B with ESP32-CAM. Utilizing OpenCV, PyTorch, custom YOLOv5 and YOLOv8 models trained in Google Colab.

BarterBox - In Progress

BarterBox is a lending/borrowing platform that facilitates the free exchange of goods between individuals to promote a reduction in waste. Built with React-Native and Expo Firebase handling backend auth and storage.

Legislation Visualization

Web application for visualization of legislation in the Irish Oireachtas. Deployed a React web app with Express and MySQL backend that pulls data from Oireachtas REST API to generate graphs and statistics that demonstrate changes to legislation and trends in governance.

Secure Social Media

Secure chat application built with React and Firebase. All messages are encrypted using a public RSA key before being published to the database. The private decryption key is securely distributed to trusted users so that they can read messages. Private keys are encryped with the users UID and AES encryption in the Firestore database.

Github Metric Visualization

Built a React web app that interfaced with Github's REST API to pull data about a given public Github repository. React-Bootstrap(HTML/CSS) used to display statistics and graphics using cached data.

Agile team project building a translation algorithm for language learning books in Python. Worked on user interface, file input/output, error handling, and optimization. Improved translation accuracy by 15% compared to previous implementation.

Bike Price Tracker

Created web scraper in Python to collect price and spec data from secondhand listings. Leveraged Firebase for backend including Firestore(NoSQL) database.
